For those of you who are not aware, KB Sound is the company that manufactures bathrooms or kitchen radios that go through a hole in the ceiling like a downlight. It is said that it is the little things that make life. If so, this is a small thing to invest in.
There are five main KB audio systems available and this blog entry aims to explain each systems pro and con.
KB Sound Plus
This small system comes in white, chrome and satin silver (nickel) its a basic system that draws you into the KB range and offers two 1.5 watt speakers that deliver surprisingly good results. Its an FM-based system that uses a small antenna like the one you watch on your clock radio. It can also have a hard drive FM antenna connected to it. So whats good? Its a cheap little system of about 90.00 kr, and although it has small speakers, the output is good and its perfect for a smaller kitchen, bathroom or even a small office. It is easy to install and the speakers are approximately equal to an average downlight at 65 mm. One potential disadvantage is that it may be a little lost in a large area. The remote control has no screen so it can be harder than the larger systems to be programmed.
KB Sound Select
The most popular of KB systems are in white, chrome and satin silver (nickel). The system was the first in the KB range to get a remote control with an LCD monitor. It has two 2.5-watt speakers that provide amazing output and quality. It is an FM based system but look at this room because there is a DAB version of the selected plan that will be released later this year. So whats up with that? What surprised me was the sound quality, and something like high music, this system is perfect because it maintains good quality even when the volume is twisted up! So good is the quality of the speakers even used on top of the DAB system. Once again its easy to install in a finished room, as it only requires two holes in the ceiling. Its stores 20 stations and you can go directly to them on the presets on the control. The LCD screen makes the remote control very user-friendly. In addition to being more expensive than the basic system, there is nothing that really matches, making it the most popular KB system on the market.
KB audio 5
This system is one of the newer systems and is a mixture of both of the above. It has massive 5-inch speakers that offer a stereo 1.5 + 1.5 watt speaker that offers incredibly high quality and a volume that will shake your roof. Like the selector, it has a remote control with LCD monitor and is an FM based system. of the advantages of the above system plus the extra volume of two 5 stereo speakers. However, cutting 5 holes in you ceilings is not as easy and can be a bit messy but its well worth it if you like your music high.
KB Sound Premium
This system is the FM hard cable system that has a box unit mounted on the wall. It is available in white, chrome and satin silver. It has fascia that comes in a variety of colors that can be matched to your wall for a small additional cost. It uses two 2.5 watt speakers as the selector system. What is good about that? Well, the sound quality is good as the selector and the wall control unit has a jack jack that allows you to connect your CD player, mp3 or iPod to it using a jacket that is available for pennies even in your local supermarket. Due to the wall box, it may be a little bit more messy to install, because cables must seal the wall upon instillation. Although sometimes there are easier ways around, it can sometimes be an expensive job. I recommend this system if you are renovating or renovating.
KB Sound DAB Premium
This system is the dab system which is currently the only KB Sound does. It is available in white, chrome and satin silver. The system has interchangeable fronts as premium. The speakers are again the 2.5 watts that come on the selector. The system offers FM and DAB signals so, unlike the other systems, it can download some stations that are not available on FM and its crystal clear dab! DAB can be used with a dab antenna. The good things ... like its dab, the sound is unbeatably clear, so in combination with big speakers you get outstanding entertainment. The box again allows the jack jack so you can connect mp3 and iPod to it. As a premium, installation is more advanced when the cables are set and driven. But this is a good system and every additional set-up time it takes is definitely worth it. You simply will not be disappointed with this or any KB system you buy. All systems have a 2 year warranty and there are more big things planned for the future. The innovative ideas like KB Sound managed material is what keeps them at the forefront of their industry.
